Our 1st Anniversary!Cosy up at Cottage Waffle Place

dated 16 June’08

Hey everyone! I haven’t been blogging for a week or so I guess. I was having my exams this week, and it just ended today! Yays! I’ve been revising lots during my holidays though at the same time spending lots of time with Princess ! hehe…

Now is my turn to tell you more about our 1st anniversary! To accommodate to the sweet little sideshow that Princess come out with in the previous post.

I have been thinking and searching for quite a number of places to bring her out on our first anniversary, keeping her mysterious of where or how I’m planning. Finally, I decided to bring her out to Cottage Waffle Place at Suntec City. It was in the evening after I visited her home with a big big teddy bear, to accompany her at night and when I’m not around physically ne! Also, created a love song collection CD and a letter for her! Hope she really loves it!

Tucked away snugly in a quiet corner between a bubble tea store and comics café at newly revamped 4th level of Suntec City Convention Centre. The European-like eatery has a cosy interior with its red brick walls and the tantalizing scent of cooked waffles.

The menu boasts of a wide variety of spreads that include: caramel; blackcurrant and raspberry; the old school combination of sugar and butter; western bacon bits and butter; traditional Chinese red bean paste; honey butter and savoury baked tuna. There’s also the take away special – freshly baked Cottage Waffle sandwiched with a slice of Super Premium Ice-cream, which is a contrastive combination of piping hot waffles and ice cream.

Its run by 2 young people and they are very friendly and accommodating. They serve waffles with a mixture of ingredients such as tuna, durian, chocolate, or just plain. I remember about 15 – 20 different choices. The waffle mix is to the more gooey sort, and so the waffle texture is more on the stiffer side.

Waffles are priced at $2.50 each. The fondue set which comes in portions for 2 ($14.90) or 3 ($28.80). Comprising of Cottage Waffle, bite-size ice cream, fresh fruits, marshmallows, roasted nuts, hot Swiss chocolate and iced fruit tea.

We got the couple’s fondue set and an additional honey butter with ice-cream set. Afterwhich, we went shopping and arcade. Finally settling down with a blueberry mixed drink from a Hawaii pizza restaurant.
